Vedaraniam community

D.S.F.S Convent in Vedaraniam started in the year 1992 on 31st May. In the beginning there were 3 sisters, one Novice and one Postulant. On 1st June 1992 itself we have taken in-charge of the local English medium School named St. Antony’s Matriculation School,Vedaraniam. This school is under Tanjore Bishop.
D.S.F.S Convent at Vedaraniam is the first house of the Congregation in Tamil Nadu. This Academic Year we are three sisters, all three are teaching in the school. Apart from teaching we also instruct them the moral values.
Simultaneously we are also involved in many other activities in the sub-stations, teaching Catechism, house visiting, conducting prayer services in the families. We have taken in-charge of three sub-stations Agustianpalli ,Sembodai and Kodiyakarai.
Due to Covid-19 we are unable to continue the pastoral activities in more fruitful way but still we go for the Holy Mass once in a week to these sub stations, then we spent sometimes with the children as well we had visited the sick persons and prayed in their families along with the Parish Priest.
At present we have started online classes for our students. Doing our best for the betterment of the locality in a way that is possible.
We too had attended the Annual Retreat on online and doing the monthly recollections on online.
