Our community St.Francis de sales girls home is attached to the All saints parish of Rongara in the Diocese of Tura, South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya state. It started in the year of 1994. It is a very remote area boarder to the Bangladesh. The main occupation of the people - shifting cultivation on the hill slopes which is called " Juming" for their livelihood.
The main purpose of starting this house to educate the tribal children (garo) and for catechetical support to the evangelization programs of the Diocese and other social workers to take care of the needy.
Our Dispensary render health services to the people as the health facilities are minimum with medical staff in this rural area and health centers are far from the villages.
We are having a hostel facilities to support the education and over all development of the poor and under privileged children of the remotest areas of our mission. At present there are 65 children staying in our hostel and doing their studies in the parish school. Two our sisters are working in the school which is belong to diocese. The school is from nursery to class-10 with above 700 students.
We are having a touring program of the diocese. We spend days and weeks of time in the villages. We are Associated with all the parish activities such as catechism, sobha (Bible conventions),circle retreats, seminars for different groups of the people like couples, st.Joseph's group, Marian sodality,youth programs, Holy childhood, laity associations etc...
